Job Objective:

We are seeking a proactive and analytical Intern to join our SME Banking team. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in market research, data analysis, and strategy formulation for small and medium enterprise (SME) banking. The ideal candidate is passionate about understanding SME markets and developing insights that contribute to innovative banking solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct in-depth market research on SME sectors, emerging trends, and the competitive landscape.
Analyze the financial requirements and challenges faced by SMEs across various industries.
Gather, organize, and evaluate qualitative and quantitative data from primary and secondary sources.
Assist in designing surveys, interviews, and focus groups to obtain customer insights.
Develop reports, presentations, and dashboards to summarize research findings and provide actionable recommendations.
Support benchmarking activities to compare the organization’s SME banking products with competitors.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align research insights with product development and marketing strategies.
Monitor market trends, regulatory updates, and technological advancements affecting SMEs.
Ensure MMBL’s policies and procedures comply with Islamic Sharia standards and maintain alignment with Sharia approvals.
Perform any other tasks as assigned by the line manager.

Required Qualification & Skills:

Education: Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or a related discipline.
Research Skills: Strong analytical abilities and critical thinking skills, with an understanding of market research methodologies.
Data Proficiency: Skilled in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Interest in Banking: Enthusiastic about SME markets and a solid understanding of financial products and services.
Adaptability: Capable of working both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating a proactive and self-motivated approach.
Preferred Experience: Any relevant internship or project experience in market research or banking is considered an advantage.
