The Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme (HKPFS), established by the Research Grants Council (RGC), attracts outstanding students from around the world to pursue PhD programmes at Hong Kong’s top universities — including HKU, CUHK, PolyU, and more — in any PhD field.
Benefits
- Annual stipend of HK$344,400 (approximately US$44,150)
- Annual conference and research-related travel allowance of HK$14,400 (approximately US$1,840)
- Funding for up to three years
- Open to applicants of all nationalities, any PhD field
How to Apply
- Step 1: Submit an initial online application through the RGC’s HKPFS Electronic System
- Step 2: Submit full applications to your selected PhD programs at the proposed universities, quoting your HKPFS Reference Number, before each university’s own deadline
