This fully funded summer research opportunity is open to undergraduate students enrolled at universities in the United States, as well as international students studying outside the United States. In 2023, more than 250 students participated. The Purdue Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) runs for 10 weeks, during which selected participants conduct research under the guidance of Purdue University faculty members, graduate students, and postdoctoral mentors. Best of all, there is no application fee, and students from around the world are welcome to apply.

Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants from all countries are eligible.
- The summer fellowship is open to all students who are enrolled in a University.
- Must be currently enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student in a bachelor’s degree program.
- Applicants must have completed at least one academic semester/quarter before the SURF application deadline.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8/4.0 or its equivalent is required for application consideration.
- All participants must submit a final report to the supervisor.
- International applicants will apply for the J-1 Visa.
