Duties and Responsibilities
Daily responsibilities will depend on the individual’s background; the intern’s assigned office as well as the internship period. Duties may include, but are not limited to: Research, compile, draft and edit material for use in the preparation and production of social media content and stories often under tight deadlines. Monitor and analyze statistics related to social media content. Assist in the creation of original content for social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, X, Snapchat, and LinkedIn and monitor engagement Manage meeting agendas and draft meeting notes when required. Assists with special projects as assigned. Support in translation from/to Arabic and English.
Qualifications/Special skills
The United Nations internship program is crafted to offer recent university graduates and current university students an opportunity to deeply engage with the work of the United Nations, enhancing their educational foundation and nurturing practical skills. Consequently, applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent). This initiative aims to actively involve fresh university graduates and students, providing them with valuable exposure to the workings of the United Nations and contributing to their professional growth. -Be computer literate in standard software applications; -Have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter; and Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter; and -Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views. No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme. Your training, education, advance course work or skills should benefit the United Nations during your internship.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations. For this internship, fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic is required. Knowledge of French is desirable.

Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
