MS General Contractor, a leading construction and interior fit‑out firm in Karachi, seeks a competent Quantity Surveyor with 3‑5 years of experience to manage cost control and estimation for various projects.
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed Bills of Quantities for civil, architectural, interior fit‑out, finishing, and MEP works.
- Carry out quantity take‑offs from architectural, structural and MEP drawings.
- Prepare cost estimates, budgets and conduct rate analyses.
- Review and validate bills from contractors, subcontractors and suppliers.
- Perform market rate studies and compare material costs.
- Track project expenditures, material usage and budget deviations.
- Draft variation orders, additional work estimates and update BOQs accordingly.
- Verify site measurements and reconcile actual quantities with approved BOQs.
- Support tender preparation, evaluate quotations and assist procurement negotiations.
- Maintain cost reports, billing records and project documentation while coordinating with project managers, site supervisors, consultants and procurement teams.
Who Should Apply
- Bachelor’s degree or DAE in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
- 3–5 years of hands‑on experience in construction estimation and quantity surveying.
- Proficiency with MS Excel, AutoCAD and estimation software.
- Solid grasp of construction drawings, BOQs, specifications and material requirements.
- Familiarity with Karachi market rates, labour costs and material pricing.
- Experience on residential, commercial and interior fit‑out projects is advantageous.
- Strong analytical, numerical, organizational and communication abilities.
