About the Role

SLB is looking for a Field Engineer Trainee to join its Artificial Lift team in Islamabad. This entry-level role offers hands-on training and mentorship, preparing candidates to grow into full-fledged field engineers responsible for delivering artificial lift solutions to clients in the oil and gas sector.

Job Description

As a Field Engineer Trainee, you will:

Support field service delivery for Artificial Lift operations, ensuring jobs are executed safely and efficiently
Learn and apply Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) standards on every job site
Assist in risk analysis and job planning prior to field operations
Work closely with senior engineers to understand equipment installation, monitoring, and troubleshooting
Provide day-to-day support to customers, addressing operational needs and building strong working relationships
Participate in on-the-job training programs to develop technical competency in artificial lift systems (ESP, gas lift, rod lift, etc., depending on assignment)
Maintain accurate job records, reports, and documentation in line with company standards

Requirements

Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Petroleum, or related field)
0–3 years of experience in a similar or related role
Willingness to work in the field, including remote or rig locations as required
Strong commitment to safety and adherence to HSE protocols
Good communication and interpersonal skills for customer-facing interactions
Ability to work under pressure and adapt to dynamic field conditions
Willingness to travel and relocate as per project/job requirements
