RAPP – My First Resume App: Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 29, 2026

This policy explains what information RAPP (“the App”, “we”, “us”) collects, why, and how it’s used. RAPP is developed by Abdullah Sherwani / Pintern.Net, and is primarily offered to users in the South Asia, Middle East, and North Africa (MENAP) region.

RAPP is a resume/CV-building app for Android. It helps users build, preview, and export professional resumes as PDF files.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account information (Google Sign-In)
To use RAPP, you sign in with your Google account. We request only:
– Your email address
– Your basic profile information (name, profile photo)

We do not request access to your Gmail messages, contacts, Drive files, or any other Google data beyond your basic email/profile identity.

1.2 Resume/CV content you enter
Everything you type into RAPP to build your resume – your name, education, work experience, skills, projects, certifications, and similar details – is stored locally on your device only (using Android’s local app storage). We do not upload the full content of your resume to our servers or any third party as part of normal app use.

Two narrow exceptions:
– If you use the AI-assisted Summary or Power Factor generation feature, the specific resume facts relevant to that feature (e.g. your degree, skills, job title, and experience) are sent to Google’s Generative Language API (Gemini) to generate suggested text. This is only triggered when you actively choose to use that AI feature.
– If you purchase a Professional Review, your email address and job title are recorded so a human reviewer can process your request (see 1.4).

1.3 Usage analytics
To understand how RAPP is used, we record, tied to your Google account email:
– How many times you’ve generated a CV
– Which resume category/industry your CV was generated under (e.g. Business, Marketing, Medical, Technical – based on the template matched to your entered job title)
– The date/time of each CV generation

This data is stored in our backend (Google Firebase/Firestore) and is used only for aggregate usage statistics – for example, understanding which resume categories are most used and how frequently. It is not sold or shared with third parties for advertising or any other purpose.

1.4 Purchases and purchase-related requests
All payments in RAPP (Buy Us a Coffee, Professional Review, Footer Removal, and the per-generation unlock) are processed entirely by Google Play Billing. We do not receive or store your payment card details, billing address, or any other payment credentials – that information is handled directly by Google under Google’s own privacy policy.

If you purchase a Professional Review, we store your email address, the job title you provided, a purchase status flag, and the purchase timestamp, so a human reviewer can identify and process your request. This is only collected if you make this specific purchase.

1.5 Referral program
If you refer someone to RAPP using your referral code, or install RAPP using someone else’s referral code, we record:
– The referral code involved
– Whether the referral reward was granted
– Related timestamps

This is used solely to operate the referral trial program (granting free trial access to both parties when a referral succeeds) and to prevent abuse of the program.

1.6 Advertising
RAPP shows ads via Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK), which may collect device identifiers (such as the Android Advertising ID), general device information, and interaction data to serve and measure ads, including personalized ads where permitted. Google’s use of this data is governed by Google’s own privacy and advertising policies. You may be able to limit ad personalization through your device’s Google Ads settings.

We never show ads without your prior explicit choice to view one – either via an on-screen ad prompt, or by choosing “watch an ad” as an alternative to a paid purchase.

1.7 Notifications
If you allow notification permissions, we send local, on-device notifications (for example, referral trial reminders). These are scheduled and delivered entirely on your device and are not sent from an external push server.

1.8 Device permissions
RAPP requests the following Android permissions:
– Internet – Required for sign-in, purchases, ads, AI features, and analytics
– Notifications – Local reminders (e.g. referral trial status)
– Storage (Read/Write) – Saving your generated PDF resume to your device
– Vibrate – Notification/interaction feedback
– Receive Boot Completed – Restoring scheduled local notifications after a device restart
– Billing – Processing in-app purchases via Google Play

2. How We Use Information

We use the information described above to:
– Provide and operate the core resume-building and PDF export functionality
– Process purchases and unlock the features you’ve paid for
– Operate the referral trial program
– Generate AI-assisted resume content when you request it
– Understand aggregate usage patterns (e.g. which industries are most common) to improve the app
– Show and measure advertising
– Send you service-related local notifications

We do not sell your personal information.

3. Third-Party Services

RAPP relies on the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policy:
– Google Sign-In – Authentication – Email, basic profile
– Google Firebase / Firestore – Backend data storage – Email, usage analytics, referral data, review requests
– Google Play Billing – Payment processing – Handled entirely by Google, we do not receive payment details
– Google AdMob – Advertising – Device/ad identifiers, ad interaction data
– Google Generative Language API (Gemini) – AI-assisted resume text generation – Resume facts you choose to submit via the AI feature
– Google Play Install Referrer – Referral attribution on install – Referral code from the Play Store install link

4. Data Retention

– Resume content stored locally on your device remains until you delete it or uninstall the app.
– Account, analytics, referral, and review-request data associated with your email is retained on our backend for as long as your account is active or as needed to operate the features described above. You may request deletion – see Section 6.

5. Children’s Privacy

RAPP is intended for students, job seekers, and professionals building a resume, and is not directed at children under 13 (or the relevant minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under this age. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us using the details in Section 7 and we will delete it.

6. Your Choices and Rights

– Access/Deletion: You may request a copy of, or deletion of, the personal data we hold about you by contacting us (Section 7).
– Sign out: You can sign out of your Google account within the app at any time.
– Ad personalization: You can manage ad personalization through your device’s Google settings.
– Local data: You can delete resume content stored on your device at any time by removing it in-app or uninstalling RAPP.

RAPP is primarily offered to users across the South Asia, Middle East, and North Africa (MENAP) region, where data protection frameworks vary significantly by country (for example, Pakistan, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt each have distinct and evolving data protection laws). We aim to honor the data rights described above – access, correction, and deletion – for all users regardless of country. If your country’s law grants you additional specific rights, those rights apply to you and we will honor lawful requests made under them; contact us using the details in Section 7 and we will address your request under the law that applies to you.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of RAPP after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
