About the Role
SLB is looking for a Field Engineer Trainee to join its Artificial Lift team in Islamabad. This entry-level role offers hands-on training and mentorship, preparing candidates to grow into full-fledged field engineers responsible for delivering artificial lift solutions to clients in the oil and gas sector.
Job Description
As a Field Engineer Trainee, you will:
- Support field service delivery for Artificial Lift operations, ensuring jobs are executed safely and efficiently
- Learn and apply Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) standards on every job site
- Assist in risk analysis and job planning prior to field operations
- Work closely with senior engineers to understand equipment installation, monitoring, and troubleshooting
- Provide day-to-day support to customers, addressing operational needs and building strong working relationships
- Participate in on-the-job training programs to develop technical competency in artificial lift systems (ESP, gas lift, rod lift, etc., depending on assignment)
- Maintain accurate job records, reports, and documentation in line with company standards
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Petroleum, or related field)
- 0–3 years of experience in a similar or related role
- Willingness to work in the field, including remote or rig locations as required
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to HSE protocols
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for customer-facing interactions
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to dynamic field conditions
- Willingness to travel and relocate as per project/job requirements
