Website Lookflock Ltd.
Lookflock is an early-stage startup focused on transforming how people make fashion decisions. We believe that choosing what to buy should be a confident, social, and human experience—not just an endless scroll driven by algorithms and ads. Our platform helps users discover fashion, save favorites, involve trusted friends, and decide what to purchase, with the actual buying happening elsewhere. As we continue to search for product-market fit, we engage directly with users weekly to learn, iterate, and improve the product based on real feedback. We are looking for a designer who thrives in this dynamic, exploratory environment and wants to help shape the future of our product.
Key Responsibilities
– Collaborate closely with the founder and development team, participating in user interviews and observing real user interactions with your designs.
– Identify and understand usability challenges uncovered during user research.
– Challenge existing ideas and propose simpler, more effective solutions.
– Transform rough concepts and early mock-ups into polished, thoughtful Figma designs for both mobile and desktop platforms.
– Enhance visual hierarchy, spacing, typography, and overall consistency across the product.
– Develop reusable components and variants within Figma to streamline design processes.
– Design for all states including empty, loading, success, error, and edge cases.
– Prepare clear, developer-friendly design specifications and review implemented screens to ensure quality and alignment with design intent.
– Adapt and revise designs based on user feedback and evidence, embracing an iterative approach.
Required Qualifications
– Genuine curiosity about user behavior and motivations.
– A strong focus on solving real problems, not just creating visually appealing designs.
– Openness to having your ideas challenged by users and team members.
– Confidence to suggest improvements and alternative approaches.
– Keen attention to detail.
– Proficiency in Figma, including Auto Layout, components, and variants.
– Basic understanding of mobile and responsive design principles.
– Ability to clearly articulate the reasoning behind your design decisions.
– Effective communication skills for collaborating with developers and leadership.
– Dependability and self-motivation when working remotely.
Final-year students, recent graduates, and junior designers are encouraged to apply. We value mindset and potential over years of experience.
Preferred Qualifications and Additional Information
Experience with consumer-facing products, social platforms, fashion-related apps, or design systems is a plus but not required.
This role is not suited for those seeking a traditional, structured environment with a mature design system and fixed requirements. Instead, it offers the opportunity to be part of a fast-moving startup where experimentation, learning, and pivoting are part of the daily routine. If you enjoy shaping a product through direct user insights and iterative design, this role could be a great fit.
To apply, please submit your portfolio or examples of your Figma work along with your availability. Include one product screen you designed with a brief explanation of the problem it addressed. Additionally, share your thoughts on one product or app you regularly use that has a poor user experience—what would you change and why? Finally, tell us in a few sentences what about Lookflock’s mission interests you personally.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to complete a small design exercise focused on a real Lookflock challenge. We prioritize understanding your thought process, decision-making, and ability to explain your design rationale over perfect final visuals.
